Beetlejuice Beetlejuice relies heavily on nostalgia, but it’s not enough to justify this sequel’s existence. The cast is excellent, with Michael Keaton giving a strong performance as Beetlejuice while Catherine O’Hara steals the film with a comedic tour de force performance as Delia. Tim Burton's visual style is on full display, with stunning costumes, sets and an emphasis on practical effects that creates a gorgeous looking film. But the story crumbles with too many subplots, with none of them getting the time and development they deserve that makes the film drag considerably in the second half, creating a disappointing legacy sequel that pales in comparison to the original classic.
