Went in to this really wanting to love it, came out of it underwhelmed. Iman Vellani is definitely the highlight, as she was in her own show, and there are some good moments with her family. The song planet was quite funny, and was at least something original. Some of the story beats are interesting, but everything with Carol feels like it was sped through a bit, and that it needed at least one extra film's worth of development before this one. The action is the worst element for me - it is so poorly directed and impossible to follow. Tonally the film is a bit of a mess, but the film is definitely at its best when it's just having fun. The villain is also so poorly written that it's laughable at points. It's not 'Black Adam' levels of bad by any stretch - this at least knows how to have fun, and isn't boring for most of the runtime - but it's far from a return to form for the MCU.
