From the combination direction of Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, and cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki delivers a visually striking, action packed american tale, that was somewhat based on true events. I say that for those that read the novel knows there were no Native Americans, but knowing Hollywood they had to spice it up, and cause conflict somehow, that didn't bother me much, espcially when you also have a great actor duo in the great, and I mean great Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy. That being said it was a master of a film, much like Inarritu prior effort "Birdman." Even though it drags at times, its worth a watch on the long intense bear attack alone. Films like this is a great reason to get off the couch and head too your local theatre. Yes it does leave a little to desire but its hard to complain, when a filmmaker tells a story and the camera angles are visually striking. I am personally looking forward to his future efforts, I'm sure much like this picture they will not dissappoint. This film is highly reviewed by many, and is hard to hate. Its already won a gang of awards, and I'm sure it will get nothing less than film of the year. Which is well deserved.
