I have been dying to watch this so I was really excited when Tom picked it! I have really gotten into courtroom dramas and this is obviously a classic! I thought it was really interesting how this film started. You never see the actual courtroom. This entire film takes place in one room where 12 jury members discuss if the teenager is guilty or innocent in a murder case. One man says not guilty which begins the debate. I love that each person has such a unique personality that you never learn anyone's name (until the end) yet you can distinguish the differences between everyone. The thing I always love the most about courtroom dramas is the one person who is playing devil's advocate, making people question the evidence that has been presented. Since we never see the trial it was really interesting hearing everyone's POV from it. Another part of the film I found really enjoyable was when the one guy was explaining how to properly use the knife so it really added a personal touch. I love that the one man that goes against everyone has empathy for the teenager. I think it would be a tough decision to make and he made sure to tell everyone to think of themselves in the teen's perspective. Really great film and I'm happy we finally watched it!
