THEY CAN’T LEAVE.

It felt like the perfect time to watch this considering I watched the original for the first time before watching Rise earlier this year.

This raging 2013 reimagining features the meanest Deadite energy of the films I’ve watched so far. Mia’s character was a delight and I enjoyed the untrustworthy nature amongst the group relating to her “delusions.” The rules of the franchise have always been messy—but I don’t mind. Each story features a different entity with their own unique book so it would make sense why.

Would it be weird to call this franchise incestuous? A plethora of ideas are shared amongst the films, yet they are also very different. Each story feels familiar yet distinctive at the same time.
