Did Prometheus regret his decision to give man fire?
Of course, he was punished for his actions, doomed by the gods to have his soul torn apart by an eagle for all of eternity. But torture does not always bring remorse, and there’s a chance he found solace in the world he left behind. Fire gave man warmth, and light, and progress, and man thanked Prometheus for the beautiful gift he gave. But men are naive and short-sighted, and they could not see what was to come.
Christopher Nolan believes Prometheus could, though. He thinks Prometheus realized the inevitable, but only when it was too late, and he lived in a powerless regret knowing what he had done.
For fire has only one purpose, and it is only a matter of time until we set ourselves aflame.
