Not a patch on the god tier original also directed by John Woo but I thought this was a fucking blast. So fun when it rackets up tension and the character dynamics on a micro level and blows it all up gloriously in a classic Woo finale. Doves, abandoned churches, law and duty, balletic gunplay! It does oscillate from some standard coverage to HOLY SHIT JOHN WOO HAS NEVER STOPPED EVOLVING CINEMA and that extends to the tonal imbalance. But who cares? This thing moves. Loved.
