A great movie through and through. While I understand the reason's for brushing up against the film's second half (it is DOUR, to say the least) I think it's pretty clear WHY those specific decisions are made in the narrative. It's not a subtle film, though it certainly leaves much resolution to the viewer's own interpretation. The ending particularly leaves me with a much more mixed perspective on how hopeful or cynical it all is. The american dream is more of a nightmare. Maybe you can make something of it. Hopefully someone can speak for you when you no longer can. It's nice to imagine they speak appropriately about whatever's left.
Unbelievable how this was made in a month for 10 million dollars. Locations do so much heavy lifting like my fucking god.
Hopefully a shoe-in for best cinematography and original score.
