We decided to watch 'Into the Spiderverse' as a refresher before going to the cinema tonight to watch part 2 (Across the Spiderverse), and I forgot how much I enjoyed this film. It's simply amazing, with an awesome soundtrack, outstanding animation unlike anything I've seen before (I love the blurry lines, making it look as if the movie is jumping right out of a comic book), a captivating story, and a very talented cast. The story is compelling, showing Miles Morales' journey learning how to become (another) spiderman, all while joining forces with Spidermen/women from different universes, attempting to save the multiverse from an interdimensional portal gone haywire, and thwart all the traditional Spiderman villains, led by VERY comic-accurate Kingpin. I love stories about the multiverse, and I think this is the only Marvel film to tackle the subject correctly. The animation is what really impressed me, though. Honestly we need more studios to use this style for more of their cartoons. This may possibly be the best animated Spiderman movie/show ever made (that I've seen, so far). The Nerd Cave highly recommends.
