I’ll start by saying I didn’t expect this show to be so good. At first I thought it was unnecessary but I’m so glad it SHUT ME UP! 😫 I love that they stayed true to Agatha’s personality and kept her villainous side (unlike a certain green nordic god)

As someone passionate about witchcraft and magic, I found this series comforting and a genuine tribute to witches. The final credits and the details referencing modern witchcraft and pop culture throughout the series were amazing! The nods to the Salem witches, the tarot card talks, the symbols, sigils, and shout-outs to iconic witches in movies and music (yes, I caught the Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks reference 😭) 

I was so tempted to give this show 5 stars but there were some scenes and situations that made the show feel messy and rushed (especially in the last two episodes) though there were still plenty of good moments in the whole series. I loved how the gave us more of Agatha’s backstory and tied everything together. The plot twist about the witches’ road was unexpected (and Agatha being the real Jolene from the Dolly Parton song LMAO). Lilia’s character and her episode were wonderful too, it was probably the best one in the series. 

I have some complaints about Agatha not getting enough spotlight in her own show though the last two episodes did shift the focus back to her. Even so, it felt like they focused too much on secondary characters, especially Billy, almost as if they only used Agatha’s show to set him up as a future major character. I don’t dislike Billy but near the end, aspects of his personality were distorted making him insufferable.

Billy was the main issue for me. I’m not sure if it was the actor or the dialogue but everything he said felt a bit fake and cringey making it hard to take him seriously. I also didn’t like how they turned him into a semi antihero at times. It felt like they were trying to make him the next Wanda, especially with that ending where Agatha becomes his mentor (a role Wanda had in the comics). It feels like they’re trying to continue Wanda’s story with Billy after mishandling hers.

Lastly (and probably my biggest complaint) I’ll never forgive Marvel for Mrs. Hart’s death. THE DISRESPECT!!! 😡
