Better than the first one, because it does not completely steal every moment from other, better films. The opening is the best part, I felt and the idea of the character to transfer the demon to bad people would’ve probably have made for a better movie than what we got. Still, this was enjoyable Mainstream horror fast food. Sadly Jack Nicholson’s son was criminally underused, but when he was there he was fun!
I watched the first Smile in Lahaina, Maui on vacation. I remember the small cinema right across from the Banyan tree and the young guy who worked there enhanced the experience quite a bit, was incredibly kind and sweet. That was before that whole town, cinema included, was eaten by the fires in 2023. I couldn’t stop thinking about that. I hope the guy is all right.
