So this was my final film of 2024, the 574th in a year when my Western count struggled to make it over the 100 mark, and Film Noirs and 1950's films took precedent over modern films, where I notched up less than 40 films from this year, with that total even fewer when you take out documentaries and stand-up comedy specials. It's been a year when Fritz Lang, Rudolph Mate, Robert Siodmak, and Vincente Minnelli earned my respect, when Gloria Grahame, Barbara Stanwyck, Rhonda Fleming, and Ella Raines garnered my love, and Alan Ladd, Glenn Ford, and Robert Mitchum became my new obsessions in terms of interesting filmographies. 2025 has started well, I'm around a dozen reviews behind already, and with Hogmanay not quite as important down here as it was for me in Scotland, this film was a pleasant way to finish the year off. To everyone I follow and who follows me here on LB, I wish you nothing but joy, success, and happiness in 2025, and hope your movie choices continue to be entertaining, illuminating, and educational in the year ahead.
