Honestly, this is an amazing movie. It's chill while also having super high stakes. It's beautiful in a completely innocuous kind of way. It's playful and fun but also touching and emotional. It's also pretty short but manages to utilize most of that runtime with a lot of tension and make the scope of the story feel rather epic. Jasper is correct about dogs, but he's clearly from our universe, not the film's universe. Cruella DeVille is such a realized character for only having a handful of lines, from the moment she's on the screen she just feels like a real person, the kind of low-life has-been dreaming of high society and vain of beauty.
The society of animals is honestly pretty well thought out as well (credit to the book for that, I guess, I haven't read it) and the anthropomorphization doesn't come across as grating or insincere like just about every animal movie in the last decade. Some of the "cute" scenes go on a little too long and you can tell they were probably trying to stretch the runtime a little bit there. But even where you can tell they tried to cut costs, I love the choices they made - like the black-and-white TVs throughout the film, showing the us the television in this universe (like who thinks to do that? 'What's my Crime?' - pure genius).
