Kinda floored by the way Corbet sets up the optimism and promise of the first half only to reveal the rotting underbelly of it all in the second. A Great American Epic followed by the dissection and interrogation of that narrative, it’s as stunningly brutal an examination of the American Dream as we’ve seen in years. Brody, Jones, Pearce, and score all magnificent.
