this was a very solid first entry! the acting and characters were really good, the pacing and structure of all the stories were comprehensive and very fluid, and this made me very emotional- i was crying almost the entire first hour. the ending of this felt for me what i assume the ending of Babylon felt like for most people, it made me so hyped. sienna miller, abbey lee, jamie campbell bower, jon beavers, and danny huston were standouts for me, and i'm VERY excited to see what giovanni ribisi is all about

more acting/character notes:
- michael rooker was so good, i hope his character is there for longer
- jena malone has scene stealer potential, i just need her to be in more scenes to steal. also cannot wait to learn more about the drama between her and the sykes patriarch
- tatkana means was only in a small role here but he was so powerful, i loved it. Also using this space to talk about how much I loved the perspectives of the native americans
- ella hunt and tom payne were great as the hughes couple, i cant wait to see more of their shenanigans
- luke wilson is doing great, evoking robert fuller from wagon trail
- i'm excited to see how the kittridge family develops, both the extended family reacting to the deaths, as well as frances and lizzie
