Went into this with pretty low expectations, but I actually had a lot of fun with it.
I've got my gripes with it, I guess. Anya Taylor-Joy is phoning it in, there's some jokes that don't land, the script is extremely barebones, but the whole thing is totally harmless and it's over before you know it.
The animation here is great and the voice cast works very well for most of it. Chris Pratt isn't great as Mario, but he's definitely better than the trailer lets on. Charlie Day as Luigi and Jack Black as Bowser are very big standouts and Key is totally unrecognizable as Toad in this.
It's the Super Mario Brothers movie. It does exactly what it says on the tin. Take it or leave it.
