Unlike Inside Out 2 which I went to with low expectations when I saw it, I went into this with much higher expectations hoping to see something genuinely great. After that last Puss in Boots movie DreamWorks had the potential to make something just as good again if not better, so when this project came to place and started hearing a lot of buzz around it that's when my interest was piqued. It looked original, apparently based on a bestselling graphic novel, heard someone describe it as "DreamWorks's Ghibli" so maybe it'd have an environmental message behind it with some naturalistic animation playing out, or maybe it'd aim to hit some emotional cords in vain with other robots in family flicks like WALL-E or The Iron Giant. With all of that said the good looking animation from the marketing and in general the very positive word of mouth was enough for me to get motivated, so I went to a theater then grabbed a ticket to see it and once the movie ended the first thought I had was pretty much set.
It was alright.
Edit: When the wild robot said on screen they were a wild robot I cheered and clapped.
