My fifteen year old brother plays jazz, so I thought he'd love to watch this for both of our first times.
My same fifteen year old brother also thinks he's the man, he thinks he's super macho, works out a lot, says stupid "rizz" jokes all the time and doesn't think musicals are cool at all.
And this same fifteen year old brother of mine told me he really liked it when it ended. His voice started cracking and getting raspy in the middle of his sentence. That's when I turned on the lights and saw tears streaming all the way down onto his hoodie.
He then told me that it ended exactly how it needed to, and we talked about how my past relationship was a lot like this beautiful film, that ended exactly how we didn't expect, but how it needed to be. And we just sat there, talking about how much we want to live our lives the way they need to be.
I love my brother, and I love that he feels this way about our friendship. He and I can talk about anything now, And I love that this night will always be a perfect memory I'll have with him. Beckham, this movie will always remind me of you, I love you, man.
