Prepare for a gush. Spider verse is fantastic. It tells the classic Spiderman origin tales but in a brilliant, relevant, fresh way. It's bursting with energy and looks just jaw droppingly good. How on earth they managed to fit all those versions of the character, all those villains, in a coherant way blows my mind. It's got great gags, both visual and verbal. Its both a homage to the Spidermans before it and a bold new vision for the character. And on top of all that, at its core is Miles, a Spiderman who is the pitch perfect teen and the perfect wannabe hero, fighting, not against some terrible threat (though there is that) but fighting to become a hero. Plus as if you needed more, there is a fantastic father son dynamic that gives this more heart than any Spiderman before it. This is the best Spiderman film, no doubt. It's possibly the best hero origin film. It's maybe even the best super hero film ever made. A genuine contender for that title.
