To start off with, I’ve never played the Borderlands game, never watched a video of the games, so I had no prior knowledge whatsoever going into this.
I came out of the screening last night, very mixed on how I felt but after sleeping on it, I’m certain this film is the rating I gave it.
The whole premise of this film, felt very unoriginal and very convoluted. I can’t compare this to the games so I have no way of knowing if it was similar at all but I couldn’t look past the very obvious flaws. The green screen was painfully obvious in this. I personally think they’ve made this for a more family-orientated purpose and not a gaming purpose. I really struggle to enjoy a lot of video game adaptations (*cough* Assassins Creed *cough*).
Either way, it releases in cinemas today, go check it out!
