Peckinpah shoots his action like an opera, building and building until he reaches a crescendo of carnage. Here, he enlists William Holden to play Tenor, Ernest Borgnine as the Soprano and Robbie Ryan his best Baritone. And I don’t know about you, but I could listen to these shotguns sing their song all day long. 

Side note: The character names in this are something else; Deke Thornton, Dutch Engstrom, Pike Bishop, Tector Gorch... I mean, c’mon!!
