Corey Hotsenpiller’s review published on Letterboxd:
For a film that is a sequel 36 years in the making, it's good. Overall, it was just ok. At points it felt like bits just stapled together. Could've cut the Dafoe character, really was wasted as was Bellucci. Definitely could've cut all the references to the person who played the father in the original. Reason why he's not in this???? Child porn. They could've just said he died and that's why were back here, to be buried here. Constantly referring to/involving his character just left a bad taste. The side villain was meh. Ortega is pretty underused until the last act. It's mainly Ryder and O'Hara's film and I was happiest during their moments. Of course Keaton delivers as Beetlejuice. Theroux's character should've been a minor part. Loved Bob. Just don't go overboard with expectations and you'll be fine.
