la la land has such a innovative and poignant twist, setting out to be a unique story that truly reimagines hollywood’s magic, bringing a lot of modernity into the film’s storytelling.
damien chazelle’s directing is so meticulous, precise & artistry, every shot, dance sequence or even a quiet moment felt compelling and powerful, most scenes resonated profoundly with me. the whole atmosphere chazelle was able to create was just magical and yet abruptly real.
his work with the use of colors to convey the character’s emotions & mood was breathtaking and each shade from each scene reflected mia & sebastian beautifully! contributing to that resonating atmosphere, another contributor aspect was definitely emma stone and ryan gosling’s portrays, their work on mia and sebastian was truly amazing, emma embodied mia’s vulnerability & strength with her raw emotion emanating through the screen and ryan manages to bring a unsettling intensity to sebastian, balancing his charm & quiet frustration, their chemistry is incomparable! together they brought authenticity & depth. — personally, this is much more than just a film to me! la la land is a celebration of love, dreams and the bittersweet beauty of what could’ve been. a beautifully crafted portrayal of desiring and the ache of sacrifice mixing music & color.
