It is no secret that I am a sucker for robots. And then you put that robot in nature and have it experience feeling? That right there is my JAM. Wall E, The Iron Giant, Bicentennial Man, Short Circuit (y'know aside from the racism), that Overwatch short about Bastion waking up in the forest. It never fails to hit my sweet spot, but even with that knowledge The Wild Robot hits on all cylinders.
The art style is amazing, the voice acting is fun, the score is beautiful, and did I mention that art style? You will laugh, be in awe, and cry.
It is a bittersweet delight though, as currently this is the last fully in-house for the foreseeable future. Dreamworks is opting to work with third party studios so they can hire less people, while Jeffrey Katzenberg takes an interest in AI
