I can see myself in both these characters, and they both seem very real to me. I also like the nuance of the script. I question who the real ass is throughout, but I just didn't find it funny at all. Maybe I am just too close to a Benji and got anxious where I could have found it absurd, but regardless I was tempted by my phone A LOT in this movie, and it is only 90 minutes. I want to see more from Eisenberg. I think he really has something, but this one just wasn't for me.
