Longlegs is a skin crawling, disturbing, sinister and down right hair-raising horror film.
The plot was done really well in this film while keeping the elements of a phycological thriller it also mixed it with supernatural elements making a cocktail of absolute unsettling horror.
This film succeeds in creating tension from the very first scene, the lens choice for this shot is perfect only showing the lower half of his mouth creating this tension and unknown about longlegs even the sound design in this first shot is very bleak and quiet unsettling music gives it this strange and eerie feeling.
Maika Monroe plays Harkers character brilliantly and brings the feel of anxiety and trauma straight through the screen making us feel uncomfortable in every situation she finds herself in.
I’ve been thinking about this film for the past week and honestly it’s getting right under my skin which is what a true horror should do.
I’ll need a second rewatch before I do my proper review on cinematography and the lenses used in this film as they’re beautiful.
