Tucker and Dale vs Evil is an excellent example of self-aware humor done right in that it doesn’t make the fact that worse movies do the same things the entire joke (see Deadpool), rather it creates its own hilarious scenarios and moments within the trite setting and tropes so that they’ll stand out more. And if nothing else, I couldn’t stop laughing.
