It’s been many years since I last saw The Sixth Sense so imagine my surprise when I found myself crying frequently.
I had forgotten how emotional of a film this proves to be. I had forgotten just how exceptional Haley Joel Osment is. I had forgotten Toni Collette was in this and that her performance is an exceptional gut-punch. I had forgotten the true devastation of the story and the side plots. I had forgotten just how good of a pay off its big reveal is. But boy do I remember now!!
And my newest discovery is that similar to The Others, The Sixth Sense is better on a rewatch. When you know what is to come and can simply immerse yourself fully in its chilly atmosphere and air of mystery, and it’s still impactful, now that’s a well made movie.
A real treat to see again with new eyes. Thrilled I decided to revisit.
