Gedanken zum Film.

Eggers schafft hier in einer Szene die Antithese zum Jumpscare.
Statt lautem Geräusch, Sound, einem Plötzlichen auftauchen von grausigen Bildern, nimmt Eggers etwas aus dem Bild, lässt es verschwinden, so wie jegliches Geräusch und schafft einen Schrecken, der grausamer nicht wirken kann.
Es herrscht eine bedrohende Atmosphäre geerdet in einem Realismus eines Settings, einer Austattung die jeden Zentimeter mit Leben füllt und den Grusel intensiviert.
