BARBIE cruises into 4th place on Nova’s list of most popular films of all time.
The pop-culture phenom joins the likes of Parasite (1st), Everything Everywhere All At Once (2nd), and The Grand Budapest Hotel (3rd), dethroning The King's Speech (now in 5th) along the way. Besides sharing a colour palette with Monsieur Gustave’s titular hotel, it’s company might herald writer/director Greta Gerwig's and producer/star Margot Robbie’s awards chances (not to mention two-time Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling...). Wes Anderson’s screwball comedy won 4 Oscars losing Best Picture to Birdman, but every other film (including Slumdog Millionaire in 6th place) won the season's top prize!
Could Oscar turn pink in 2024? Only time will tell.
