Robert Pattinson should’ve been nominated for Best Actor. Willem Dafoe should’ve been nominated for Best Supporting Actor. Robert Eggers should’ve been nominated for Best Director. Love the choice of the 1.19:1 aspect ratio giving the experience of feeling isolated, stranded on the island. Feeling claustrophobic with the two men. Thomas Wake releases gas and gaslight his worker. Power dynamic, an erotic toxic relationship between the two workers. One of the creepiest endings. Robert Eggers proven to be a master of the horror genre with only two movies. It’s hard for a director to prove that with just one movie. Eggers and Aster truly know what they’re doing.
