Oppenheimer

Oppenheimer

[10/10] WARNING EXTREME MEAT RIDING IN REVIEW!

I've been trying to figure out how to start this thing, but it's so hard. I'm just going to say stuff and hope it makes sense. Lol. I guess I'll start off with the obvious thing and say that this is Nolan's best film he has made to date. You can just see how much love and detail he put into this film. Peter Jackson has Lord of the Rings, and Nolan has Oppenheimer. I know it might seem crazy because he literally has Interstellar and Dark Knight, but this film is just so much better. Nolan and his team put together one of the most perfect casts anyone has ever done. Some Oscar-winning actors have only a few seconds on screen; that's how packed this movie is. A few clear standouts when it comes to acting in this film are Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Cillian Murphy, and Benny Safdie, who not a lot of people are talking about for some reason. Emily, Robert, and Cillian will 100% be nominated for an Oscar. I honestly see this film winning Best Picture. The sound in the movie was incredible. From Oppenheimer having those crazy visions to when the nuke goes off, I felt them in my chest. Hoyte van Hoytema's cinematography was excellent in this film. One of my favorite shots is when Oppenheimer is looking at a pond and the raindrops are hitting the water and making it look like thousands of nukes are going off (Chef's fucking kiss).

This film is one of the most important movies of our generation. The deep meaning behind it is beautifully done by Nolan. It's both sad and scary. There is a scene (I won't spoil it) where Oppy is having, I would say, a breakdown; the music fades to silence, making it incredibly stressful and horrific to watch. I know I've been overhyping this film, but the ending is one of the greatest endings to a movie ever. I have only gotten chills twice while watching a movie, but the ending of this film left me speechless and gave me literal chills like I have never had before. The ending was so powerful that when the credits started rolling, I kid you not, not a single person stood up. Everyone, including me, just sat there looking at the screen, trying to process what we had watched for three hours. I definitely heard someone sniffling. Its hard to explain the ending of the film and what it did to me. I have been stunned all day. I HIGHLY recommend that you see this movie in theaters.
