“Paranoia is a very comforting state of mind. If you think they’re out to get you, it means you think you matter.” - Sandy Mitchell
I get it, man. I’ve spent time reviewing people’s calls and texts and emails for incriminating statements; it’s made me extremely careful about what I put in writing, I frequently write an email, think twice, delete it, and pick up the phone, just so no one will later misconstrue what I said or try to use it against me. I am hyperconscious about how loud I’m speaking at a restaurant and how many people are nearby. Harry Caul suffers from the most advanced form of this disease - so caught up in his own head and guilt and shame that’s he’s literally losing his mind. And the sound design is right there with him.
Also, man, I wish we got sinister Harrison Ford more often.
