La La Land proves that there is still a place and appreciation for old Hollywood cinema. Chazelle has really outdone himself with this film, and it's hard to see how he could top such an amazing work of art.
The story flows at a perfect pace due to the witty writing and use of long shots that smoothly lead to the next. The characters feel real and personal. And the final scene will make you hold your breath until the credits. The music, the lighting, and the camera work all work hand in hand to bring this emotional, theatrical experience to life. You can see the inspiration from movie musicals of the past, which shows the pure passion Chazelle has for film. La La Land is sure to become a classic, and is surely one of the greatest movies I've ever seen. It is a must-see.
