It seems to me to be a quest based in reckless self interest and that once Oppenheimer realizes his work has been and will continuously be used by imperialist/hegemonic forces, it turns into a quest of self-flagellation and martyrdom — for the sake of either his conscience or his legacy.
Edited very well, the back and forth of the time worked really well for me. Stellar cast as well and everyone single one of them plays their role to near perfection. Also, good to see Josh Hartnett.
