Cillian Murphy makes the battle of a man who is deeply good, but just as deeply afraid at what it means to follow through on his goodness, to help alleviate the suffering around him that's blithely accepted by everyone else, so intimate and moving. The film makes great use of his haunted face, and his quiet charisma.
It all looks beautiful, like an unusually melancholic Christmas card. It ends perfectly.
