Charlie Lyne @ LFF’s review published on Letterboxd:
Finally a great all-generation-film again that has the young ones laughing, the old ones crying and everybody gasping in wonder. What a beautifully animated film from the very beginning (can't believe it's not Pixar), what great, lively characters, and on top of this even the music fits. It isn't a new story but a timeless one told in a new way, it is intelligent and magic, and it comes with so much wonder, beauty, warmth and comfort that it could easily have been our Christmas film. I think the last time we all - two grandsons and their cinema-grandparents - were so enchanted was "Encanto". "Omi, I saw you crying the whole time", my younger grandson said when we left. Not true! But after the learning-to-fly-scene I was indeed done. I might have set the end a few scenes earlier (a kind of We-are-Groot-ending ...) but I totally understand that this would have been a bit harsh on a younger audience. And after all it isn't as if we old ones couldn't do with a feel-good-ending as well now and then. A shining star of a film. Loved it.
