WWII in Chronological Order, Part 20
Blitz
September 1940. The beginning of the Blitz.
On its own, this is not exactly a great film. The plot was decent, and the performances were decent too but istg if I see one more movie with Saoirse Ronan I’m actually gonna crash out 💀. Normally I would give this about a 5/10, but even though looking back at the plot makes me realize that it wasn’t that great, I still enjoyed watching it so I bumped up the rating. This is helped massively by having watched Battle of Britain a few days ago. In my personal headcanon the burning building at the end of Battle of Britain is the same one in the opening of this movie.
The only reason I even put this on the list is because I knew I should have something about the Blitz and I couldn’t find anything else. At least it was better than I thought it would be. Still I would never have bothered with it if not for the list. Sadly, it looks like the list is gonna skip about 7 months forward because not much really happened around this time period apart from the obvious.
