I’m surprised Ariana Grande and Cynthia Ervio have backs because the acting carries this film. There’s really only one moment where I think it pulls off being a movie musical (the library sequence).
How did the same director who made CRAZY RICH ASIANS and IN THE HEIGHTS - two vibrant films - make this boring looking film?
