Wooooow, I haven't watched this movie in years, and I'm so happy to say I freaking loved it even more than before!
The movie's premise is insanely clever, it felt almost as fresh and funny as the original. The characters are all memorable for me, they were the one thing I remembered loving about this movie from the first time I watched it; they're all hilarious, weirdly likable and, also, super suspicious. I loved how this movie went back to making every single character a suspect; well, everyone except the main trio, who all kill it btw :)
I actually think Gale stole the show in this one for me, she gets a reduced role towards the latter half of the story, but she gets so many memorable moments in the first half, and there's a scene where she sneaks into a party wearing a Ghostface mask and pretending to be partying and is absolutely hilarious! She was also the only character who actually seemed to be on the right track to find the killer more than once, which I also loved.
Dewey and Sidney are still awesome tho. Love how Sidney has an "I'm done with this sh*t" attitude through the whole movie and straight up runs up to Ghostface and kicks him in the face when she first sees him. Absolute icon ❤
The movie was surprisingly scary too, which is weird, because I remember when I was a teenager and obssessed with these movies, this one was the one that scared me the least, but this time it was pretty intense. The last 45 minutes of this movie are actually insane; once the Stabathon party starts the movie never really let up for me; it was awesome, and fittingly reminded me of the first movie and how insane the last 40 minutes of that one were too. The plot twist and reveal might also be my favorite out of all 4 movies.
I'm so glad I decided to rewatch these movies, and Scream 4 especially makes me SO EXCITED to watch the fifth one in theaters!!! I love it so much!!!
