Think I can take a fairly educated guess that me and Perkins have similar overlap in our favorite horror movies; he’s got solid taste, understanding what sort of grammar can make a scene or moment slightly off. He just rarely figures out when and why those tools should be deployed. Just because your formal tricks scream at the audience “CREEPY CREEPY CREEPY” doesn’t mean that the ingredients on screen are intuitively communicating that.
