Wasn’t sure about it at the start but grew to kind of love it by the end? There’s a infectious spirit it has to it’s musical numbers and really adored Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey’s performances especially. It’s a little clunky and maybe a tad overlong but I had a blast.
I actually read the novel as a kid but never saw the musical so much of this was new to me, and I very much enjoyed that. Oh and god bless, it seems Michelle Yeoh cannot carry a tune and it seems like they adjusted accordingly, but her acting was great so all is good on that front.
