The best documentaries are difficult to watch and flooded with an emotional core throughout. Dear Zachary is just that. A story as absorbing as I’d expected, but the sickening circumstances detailed throughout and the atrocious government activity are truly crushing. You simply cannot believe what is being said and done. It’s brutal to witness, but in its own heartbreaking way there is a a beauty to it existing throughout the courageous work of the grandparents and their truly remarkable work to find justice.
