The story is pretty basic and derivative with a bunch of loopholes. Even some characters feel like picked ditto from other animated movies like Zootopia. But man, is it a tearjerking ride. Various themes like motherhood, friendship and survival are gelled beautifully. The tone and Kris Bowers' musical score takes you back to the olden times when we used to see such heartfelt movies at a very young age. The Wild Robot takes the credit for that, and making you cry, if not for originality.
