Now this was an experience. I recommend seeing it for the sound design alone. My whole cinema was vibrating, I've never experienced anything like it before. Thankfully everything else about the film is also good.

A 3hr deep dive into Oppenheimer. A person that I knew nothing about besides the fact he developed the atomic bomb. It's completely immersive from the first second to the last. I enjoyed learning lots about him. A big part of this stems from Cillian Murphy, who I think has just confirmed himself as an Oscar winner this year. He's sensational. RDJ absolutely shines, it's great to see such a captivating performance from him outside of the MCU. Emily Blunt will also be in for a shout, but sadly Nolans writing for females continues to be off. Florence Pugh. Nothing else needs to be said there. There's not one disappointing performance from the stellar cast. It's utterly terrifying what humans are capable of. We created a weapon that can wipe out civilization in seconds.

The visuals are stunning. In typical Nolan fashion the movie is simply georgous. His use of black & white is very effective (a first ever for IMAX). I love that he shoots on film, it makes everything look sharper & extremely real. Especially when it comes to the colours. I get digital is easier but I'm glad every now and again someone goes it the classic way. Sound design literally blew me off my seat, wow. It's so good. Arguably the best sound design I've witnessed at the cinema. The score is equally as powerful. Oppenheimer looks stunning & it sounds stunning.

People can say what they want about Nolan, but there's no denying that he's not only one of the best filmmakers of the 21st century, but of all time. He's taken everything he's learned from his previous greats and combined them into this picture, that I think in years to come will become his masterpiece. I can't wait to see this again. Go and see it on the biggest screen possible.
