This was actually such a beautiful and heartfelt film about falling in love and I enjoyed every second of it. I have no idea how Rooney Mara and Cate Blanchett didn’t win oscars for this, I mean Rooney Mara was absolutely terrific, thought she gave a mesmerising performance. Kyle Chandler was also great, he is great at playing small parts and also Plop from The Office was in this which I didn’t know. I will say one thing, I felt it maybe could’ve been a bit shorter, but that’s just me. The cinematography was beautiful as well, brilliantly captured the look of the 1950s and I absolutely adored the costumes, everything about this film gave me such a comforting feeling I don’t even know why. My two favourite shots are definitely the one of Rooney Mara in the taxi looking out the rain stained window, and the one towards the end at the party with Rooney Mara and that other girl in one frame and the rest of the party in the other, was just perfect. Overall a beautiful film.
