Even better than the first time, and I felt even more devastated after this.
Oppenheimer is a deconstruction of the Great Man of History biopic. It may just have one of the best third acts in history.
The speech scene in which he has a panic attack about the casualties caused by the bomb.
To the very last seconds of the film where him an Einstein realize the true nature of this bomb.
I also enjoyed the symbolism of the rain at the beginning and end of the film. The shots create an awesome metaphor with the bombs as objects falling from the sky and creating a ripple effect on the surface. The Trinity Test is even more breathtaking on this screen and I’m not sure if I ever stopped to breathe throughout the sequence. The final act is even better on rewatch after having a deeper understanding of the characters and Blunt’s takeover is so impressive. This ending will be remembered as one of the greatest in the 21st century.
