James Franco: Into the Franco-Verse wasn’t one of the best animated films I’ve ever seen but certainly one of the strongest. Although why James Franco didn’t get any screentime in this at all I’ll never know.
(Fun fact: my phone autocorrected “screentime” to “screw time” and I thought it was very funny, so I’ll allow it this time, iPhone. You made me laugh for the first time with your unwanted corrections.)
In all seriousness though, Miles was a highly amusing protagonist and seeing all of the different Spiders from the different dimensions (especially Spider-Ham) interact with each other definitely made the film a lot more interesting. That…and seeing Uncle Aaron trying to kill his nephew was a twist that I certainly did not expect.
We also get to see Kingpin in this movie and as my mate’s mate Bert would say, sheesh…SHEEESH!!! is this guy built different! Nowhere near as muscular as James Corden, but god damn I’m surprised he didn’t totally murder Miles at the end!
Well done, Sony Pictures Animation, you made a film that was undeniably significantly more than just “meh”. I’m looking at you, Open Season…
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be on my way to sha—I mean spit some bars.
Needless to say, I keep her in check She was a bad-bad, nevertheless (yeah) Callin' it quits now, baby, I'm a wreck (wreck) Crash at my place, baby, you're a wreck (wreck)
What a banger. Hearing Miles try his best to sing that at the start of the movie certainly assured me that this would be in my top 3 Spider-Man films…which I’m very happy to report that it is! Below SCHPIDERMANNOWAYHOME and James Franco 2, of course.
