I can now say I love the X trilogy in its entirety sure this isn’t as good as Pearl or X but it’s still amazing and in my opinion 5 stars. I love the 80s style and the story and the use of the themes of sex and religion heavy on religion as this is during the satanic panic and there’s even protests throughout the movie. Religion plays a big role as there making a very controversial movie with  the puritan 2 and the killer who turns out to be Maxine’s father is killing because of his religion and how he thinks Maxine is possessed and Hollywood is the devil. Also I actually guessed the killer tho I mean if you think about it like Ti didn’t give many options as you only have X to go by so who is the only one we know about who knows Maxine it can’t be any of her crew there all dead and so glad Ti didn’t bring anyone back as that would’ve been cheap maybe it would’ve worked but when you really think it had to be the dad and at first I didn’t know about this but I say it works when putting the big overall theme together. Also I love how it shows Maxine is this badass but she still has trauma as she has moments when she’s reliving the Texas pornstar massacre which I love that title but yeah. And ok the kills wow there’s some really good gore in this like her fathers kill and also that robbing scene to show how tough Maxine is we get a killing gone wrong as someone who was trying to kill her or rob her she makes them strip and then give a blowjob to a gun and finally crushes his fucking balls I’m not kidding and you see it I was like holy fuck!!!!!!!
Also Kevin Bacon is awesome as a private investigator hired by her father to track her down and leads to some tense chase scenes and an awesome scene of Maxine beating the shit out of him.
Mia Goth is awesome as Maxine tho her performance as Pearl is still the best Maxine is still awesome and I like her ending but she is badass and an awesome final girl cause she actually gets herself out and ends up killing her father too.
And there’s the cops which bring a little comedy too and Giancarlo Esposito who’s a lawyer and leads to a pretty brutal death Kevin Bacons which is crazy cause your like are they going all the way or gonna stop it and nope
And last thing I’ll say cause this review is longer then X and Pearls but I love Ti’s editing and how in the whole trilogy he keeps the wipe and the multiple angles like at the end of Pearl. In my opinion the X trilogy is Ti’s best work and I’ve now watched everything he’s done

Will 100 percent rewatch this trilogy
