Positively RID-IC-ULOUS cold open had me thinking this might actually be my shit but in comes the “Michael Myers represents the anchor that divides us” baby-brained monologuing as Laurie Strode writes a book with the prose of a 3rd grader.
Better than Kills if only marginally cause they finally FINALLY (!!!) put this shit to bed. I kind of appreciate what DGD and McBride were going for in this trilogy thesis wise but… the execution is very very dumb!
Too concerned with its — and I can’t stress this enough — surface-level, remedial meaning to tighten up any loose ends.
Like… why is there a radio DJ character in some random Midwest town in 2019????? And he’s incredibly successful?????? You could have just set this in the 90s if you really wanted to!!! Folks dunk on Resurrection but at least that one has a finger on the pulse when it comes to relevant media of the time!
